Under the Great Seal of the City of Annapolis, Mayor Jared Littmann—the 138th Mayor of Maryland's historic capital city—has proclaimed November 8, 2026 as First-Generation and Low-Income College Celebration Day, formally recognizing STEMpathize International for providing peer mentorship, scholarship support, and free academic resources to youth across Maryland.

Full Text of Official Proclamation
“WHEREAS First-generation and low-income college students strengthen the City of Annapolis by bringing extraordinary resilience, diverse perspectives, and community-driven leadership to our campuses and local workforce; and
“WHEREAS grassroots organizations, such as STEMpathize International, play a critical role in dismantling educational barriers by providing peer mentorship, vital scholarship funding, and free academic resources to youth across Maryland; and
“WHEREAS on November 8, 1965, the Higher Education Act was signed into law to expand access to postsecondary education, and the First-Generation College Celebration is observed each November 8 to recognize these trailblazing students and their mentors; and
“WHEREAS the City of Annapolis is deeply committed to fostering educational equity, recognizing that investing in the academic success of our most vulnerable youth builds a safer, more prosperous, and more inclusive city for all.”
